Parrot Heads who are serious about going to Meeting of The Minds in Key West are making room reservations now. Here is the latest (which changes by the minute).

The dates are October 29th Wednesday through Sunday November 2nd Sunday. That is 4 nights but you can of course just go for 3 nights. Some people have already made reservations at The Southernmost Hotel on their own and got a rate of $99.00 for Wed.,Thursday & $105.00 for Friday and Saturday plus 11 1/2% tax. This is for the standard, cheapest room. I just called Southernmost and they say there are no more rooms at that price so those people made out--good for them for being early. Gary Blanchard made a group reservation for our club to lock in the prices below. There are very few left (7 of the cheapest) and in fact the deadline for the cheapest standard room is January 25th. Here is how you make a reservation against the block of rooms Gary has on hold:

Standard Room: Sun.- Thursday $99.00 plus tax, Friday-Saturday $110.00 per night plus tax

 

You can ask them about the difference in rooms, cancellation policy, etc. etc. etc. when you call. So that is the latest. I reserved one of the cheapest rooms. By the way, not all Parrot Heads jumped on the yahoo group like we have been begging them to do. So you guys are in the know--congrats.
