If you didn't get to go to Gasparilla with us, or if you did go but you didn't get enough doubloons, trinkets and beads in Tampa, here's another chance to hone your loot-catching skills. Leesburg has a very nice Mardi Gras PHestival coming up this month and we're all going. PHirst, we'll meet at the corner of PHiPHth and Main at PHive O'Clock, and wander downtown looking for the best PHood and PHroth concessions. Yep, beer and wine will be available in designated areas. No coolers allowed however. Then we'll stake-out a place along the parade route to see all the PHloats as this great little 'burg hosts it's 9th Annual Mardi Gras Parade, a full 10 days before The Villages' celebration. The PHestivities start at 7 PM, goes from 11th St. to Canal St. and admission is PHree, of course! PHolding chairs are not really necessary since we'll be doing a lot of waving, shouting and jumping for those damn little beads! But leave them in your car just in case you want to stay late and be really entertained... because after the parade, Rodney Thibodeaux & "Tout Les Soir" ('Too-lay-swah'), direct from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will be playing Cajun/Zydeco PHavorites. My kinda music! They'll be at the Palmetto St. stage (just one of 3 music stages that night). And that night's trivia question is: Which member of the band is named "Butch". So, - no PHormal meeting, - no PHreakin' announcements; - just ParrotHead PHun and PHrivolity!
See you at PHive O'Clock Somewhere
on Main Street in Leesburg on PHeb. 18th!
