In late, breaking news the Board announced that the monthly PHlocking at

Tierra del Sol has been cancelled effective immediately.

CLUB GOES TO TWO PHLOCKINGS PER MONTH

Letter From the President:

After all of the deliberation your EXCOMM put into going to three PHlockings a month to

accommodate all of our members, we discovered that some things just don’t work no

matter how hard we try. Consequently, your EXCOMM has made the decision to cancel

the monthly PHlocking at Tierra del Sol until further notice.

We were informed by the restaurant’s management that they would no longer pay for

music at our PHlockings because they did not view it financially beneficial considering the

small number of our members who chose to eat there.

They also informed us there is dissatisfaction among the wait staff regarding the amount

of tips left by our members.

Their suggested solution to the situation was to institute a $5.00 per person per

PHlocking cover charge to our members. The EXCOMM decided this proposal was not in

the best interests of our members.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, and ask for your patience as your

EXCOMM moves forward to serve the best interests of all our club members.

Greetings Parrot Heads:


As all of you know, our club has struggled for years finding meeting places that will accommodate all of our members.  Members are either not coming to meetings  or come and leave due to the fact that there are no places to sit.  This is not acceptable.  Consequently, the EXCOMM has voted to implement a new system for our club.
 
 

  1. We will no longer have monthly meetings as we know them but will have 3 PHlockings a month.  The first one will be as usual at El Santiago, the second one will be on the Tuesday following the first Wednesday at Tierra del Sol and a THIRD PHlocking will be on the Thursday of the week following the second PHlocking.  The third PHlocking will be held at Mallory.
  2. There will be no business conducted at these PHlockings.  All business will be conducted at EXCOMM meetings only. 
  3. PHlockings will have a 50/50, membership sign-up, volunteer sign-ups, trivia and ticket sales.
  4. PHlockings will have a bulletin board with information and flyers, hand-outs etc. and volunteer sign up.  Attendance will be taken, at least for several months, to see if this system is working.
We are hoping that between e-mails, website, bulletin board and hand-outs, all information to members should be covered.
 
There will be no 5 O'Clock Somewhere in March while this new system is implemented but will resume in April.
 
There will be no minutes taken at the PHlockings and EXCOMM members will rotate their  presence at the PHlockings so everyone is not expected to attend all 3 PHlockings.
 
If any member is interested in doing the 50/50 at Mallory. please let me know.
 
With that said,  March PHlockings would be as follows:
4th at El Santiago
10th at Tierra del Sol
19th at Mallory
 
Information for April will be communicated at a future date.
 
We are hoping this system will accommodate most of our members as far as location and also help alleviate the crowding.
 
I would also like to address comments I have received about saving seating and not making ALL members feel welcome.  I am asking all members to come to the PHlockings and enjoy yourself wherever you may sit.  Don't save tables, but open your table up to new members and create a chance to make new friends. 
 
I am asking each and every member to please bear with us as we try to make this system work for the benefit of ALL our members.
